$45,000/yr – $55,000/yr

OVERVIEW:

The Director of Strength and Conditioning role involves developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for in-gym and remote athletes while fostering collaboration with various departments such as pitching, hitting, research and development, and sports science.

S&C RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Overseeing in-gym strength and conditioning programs during afternoon and evening hours, including weekends.
2. Conducting strength and conditioning assessments and debriefs.
3. Developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for in-gym and remote athletes.
4. Collaborate with the Sports Science Department to continuously enhance training outcomes.
5. Regularly attending staff meetings and educational opportunities.
6. Engaging in athlete onboarding processes.
7. Comfortable with social media engagement.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to strength and conditioning staff.

2. Team Development: Oversee the development and execution of staff training programs to enhance
team skills and knowledge.

3. Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other department heads to ensure a unified and cohesive approach to athlete development.

QUALIFICATIONS:
–  Previous coaching experience in strength and conditioning in a private facility, high school, or college setting.
–  Expertise in strength and conditioning and a deep understanding of human movement.
–  General understanding of the skills required in softball pitching, hitting and overhand throwing.
–  Passion for helping athletes succeed, and the ability to connect with athletes throughout their training journey.
–  Strong presence, be capable of working with multiple athletes simultaneously, and demonstrate a willingness to work with athletes of all ages (10 – 22+).
–  Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Google Docs and Sheets.
–  Strong desire for continuous learning and coaching growth.
–  Candidates must be authentic, inclusive and athlete-centered, resilient, and will to be a thought leader. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
This role requires frequent movement, including walking, demonstrating exercises, and assisting with various strength and conditioning activities. Daily tasks may include bending, throwing, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and squatting.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Pitching Coach will learn the underlying educational concepts of OGX player development, and
ultimately learn the athlete management systems and training protocols developed by OGX. The Pitching Coach will work daily with OGX athletes, will develop and implement training programs (remote and in-gym), and will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with all departments (pitching, hittng, S&C, R&D).

Skill sets and attributes required for this position include
– knowledge of pitching/S&C and general human movement
– passion for helping athletes achieve their goals
– ability to connect with athletes throughout their training process
– a presence that is able to command the floor and work with up to 5 athletes at once
– ability and willingness to work with athletes of all ages (10 – 22+)
– computer literate and proficient with Google Docs and Sheets
– a high level of desire to learn and grow as a coach.

PRIMARY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
– Facilitating the athletes’ programs in-gym. Our typical coaching hours are in the afternoon and
evening, Monday – Thursday, as well as some weekends.
– Implementing assessments and debriefs.
– Writing programs and providing oversight for remote athletes.
– In addition to the above, Pitching Coaches will be expected to work with our Sport Scientist to continuously improve our training outcomes, attend regular staff meetings and education opportunities, be engaged with the onboarding process for athletes and be comfortable with posting on social media.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical requirements of this job require frequent walking around, demonstrating and
assisting with exercise, throwing, hitting and pitching movements; bending, throwing, stretching,
lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily.
