OGX FAQs

1. What is OGX?

OGX is a softball training company that blends biomechanics, data, and coaching expertise to help athletes maximize performance. We offer in-house training, remote training, consulting, and biomech assessments - with package options designed to meet different levels of commitment and support.

2. Where is OGX located?

Our training HQ is in Romeoville, IL (off of I-355 and I-55, about 30 minutes from Midway Airport and 40 minutes from O'Hare).

3. What is a biomechanics assessment?

A biomechanics assessment is the foundation of how we train. Using motion capture technology combined with ball-flight data (like velocity, spin, and movement), we measure exactly how an athlete moves in the circle or in the box. Our database includes thousands of athletes, so we can compare your results to established benchmarks and patterns. The outcome is clear, actionable direction - no guessing - so your training is targeted to maximize performance.

4. Do I have to do a biomechanics assessment before training?

We recommend starting with an assessment for the most precise and individualized plan. However, athletes may also begin training directly.

5. What's included in OGX training programs?

Every package includes individualized programming, with different options available to match each athlete's needs and preferences. Some athletes choose a plan with more frequent coach feedback and live calls, while others prefer a package focused on self-guided work supported by periodic check-ins, video review, or wellness tracking. Our goal is to help you select the package that feels most supportive and personal to your development.

6. How does remote training work?

Athletes receive individualized programming and may submit videos, wellness check-ins, or power/movement data depending on their package. Coaches review and adjust training based on the features included in your plan.

7. How often can I train at OGX HQ?

Athletes with facility access can typically train up to 3x/week, while others may just drop in occasionally depending on their package. All in-house training is supported by coaches on-site.

8. How do reassessments work?

Our Pro training package includes a built-in reassessment around the 10-12 week mark to measure progress and adjust your plan. But you don't have to be in a package to check in - biomechanics assessments are available year-round and can be purchased anytime. Whether you're training with OGX or just want a clear progress report, regular reassessments are the best way to track growth and get updated direction.

9. Do you work with college programs or teams?

Yes. OGX currently partners with 25+ college programs across the country, providing on-campus biomechanics assessments, consulting packages, and Launchpad installations. We're always open to expanding these collaborations and working with additional programs that want to bring data-driven player development to their athletes.
